MARA Carnival to benefit 37,500 students

IPOH: The MARA Education and Entrepreneur Carnival that starts on April 7 is expected to benefit 37,500 students who aspire to further their studies at public, private or MARA's higher learning institutions.

Perak's MARA deputy director Zahari Aziz said the carnival organised by MARA would provide opportunities for those who did not achieve excellent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results, an opportunity to further their studies.
"63 higher learning institutions will take part in the carnival. There are also 125 GiatMara centres throughout the country and the 24 in Perak are also involved.
"Every GiatMara centre will accept 60 students per intake," he told reporters here today.
Apart from GiatMara, other institutions involved are Kolej Politech MARA (KPTM), Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), UniKl and Perak Royal Medicine College (PRMC), he said.
As for those who aspire to become entrepreneurs, they would also be able to take advantage of the many courses offered in the various sectors like automotive, electrical, air conditioning, food and beverage and other services, he said.
"Those who did not excel in their SPM can further their studies and become entrepreneurs through the assistance provided by the government," he said.  --BERNAMA
