Pride of MRSM Transkrian

NIBONG TEBAL: THE smiles of 22 students from Maktab Rendah Sains MARA (MRSM) Transkrian, here, said it all as they shared their joy in passing their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination with flying colours.
Muhammad Syafiq Monaer and Farhana Nur Iman Lokman were jubilant for scoring 10 As and nine As, respectively.
Syafiq, who scored eight A+s, one A and one A-, was grinning from ear to ear while sharing his enthusiasm in furthering his studies in engineering.
"I always persevere to the end and give my full attention when studying," he said.
The youngest of three children was hoping to emulate his elder brother, who has gone on to further his studies abroad.
The aspiring engineer said his passion was for Physics and Mathematics, two subjects for which he scored A+.
Farhana Nur Iman, who scored eight A+s and one A, broke into tears of joy when she learned her result.
When asked about her success secret, Farhana said she never gave less than a full commitment to her studies.
The aspiring doctor added that time management and discipline were two crucial elements, particularly for balancing between studies and her co-curricular activities.
"I love Biology and wish to follow in the footsteps of my father, who is a doctor," said Farhana, who is enrolled for medical foundation at Sunway College in Subang.
Another top scorer, Mohd Izzat Mohd Aseri, said a balanced diet was equally important for students and stressed that last-minute work was a taboo for him.
Izzat, who scored four A+s, three As and two A-s, said there were no short cuts as success only came from hard work and consistency.
"I am grateful to Allah, my parents and my teachers for helping me to achieve this," he said.
Izzat said he made sure he understood the lessons in class rather than merely memorising the lecture notes.
Syafiq, Farhana Nur Iman and Izzat were among the 147 students from MRSM Transkrian who sat for their SPM last year.
MRSM Transkrian principal Samsudin Suip said he was satisfied with the 2012 results, even though School Average Grade index slipped from 1.03 in 2011 to 2.02 last year.
